Ok so I’ve decided that from now on every friday, I’m going to share with you an inspirational / motivational video that I’ve seen that week. I’m calling it Fired Up Fridays because I want to get you fired up about making some changes in your life, whatever they may be.

As you are probably aware, the majority of my time is spent on the internet (much to the dismay of my girlfriend, family and spinal cord), I am being sent these videos to check out more and more - and this one, I have to tell you…moved me to tears.

My Out Of The Box Job Ad That Received 41 Applicants In Under 24 Hours.

Most people know that my business is going crazy at the moment, and we currently have a waiting list of people looking to use our services because we can’t create accounts fast enough (we like to be very thorough when creating Google AdWords campaigns).

I’m also receiving tons of emails a week and I try to answer them all - however last week I slammed my finger in my car door and fractured my middle finger, so typing has become a serious problem (so you better value this blog post haha).

So once I realised that I would soon have people yelling at me because I wasn’t responding to them, I decided to write a job ad for a personal assistant…

It resulted in 41 applicants in under 24 hours from Seek/Myspace/Facebook!

I’ve copied and pasted the advertisement below, i’d love your feedback.

Dear Job Seeker,

Let me start off by mentioning 3 very important things…

The first is, that I hate writing ‘normal’ job ads which give you the facts and figures about the proposed position but are so boring to read that you’d rather sit and watch reruns of I Dream of Genie for hours on end than trying to read it!

Secondly, if you did enjoy I Dream of Genie, then this position is undoubtedly and unfortunately, not for you. (sorry).

Also…
- If you are not interested in growing as a person and learning new things, than this job is not for you.

- If you live your life with Blame, Excuses and Denial as your main artillery for getting out of sticky situations, than this job is not for you.

Or - If your afraid of stepping out of your comfort zone, meeting new people and sharing new experiences, than this job is not for you.

However, If you can manage to read this job ad from top to bottom whilst maintaining interest and even a level of excitement, then you ARE the type of person I am looking for in this role.

By the way, 4 years ago I never thought i’ d be in a position where I’d be placing up job ads for a personal assistant…

But I now receive hundreds of emails a week of people asking me for marketing advice and looking to use my internet services that I simply can’t keep up with demand.

Which is where you *may* be the one who can assist me, as I only have so many hours in the day.

I run an Online Marketing firm called Adam Davis Online Marketing based in Perth, Western Australia.

This role reports straight to me, which is why I wrote this job ad personally - as I will be in touch with you on a daily basis (I feel sorry for you already).

I am 21 years old. And although I have written this job ad in a slightly out of the box way, rest assured my team and I take our business very seriously, and we get the best results for our clients every time.

My team consists of 5 amazing people who manage the extraordinary task of creating online marketing campaigns for businesses across Australia, and they are damn good at it!

But enough about us, I want to know more about you…

I am looking for an energetic, bubbly and organised personality to fill the role of personal assistant to me, or another way of putting this role would be ‘Director of First Impressions’ as you will be the person who has first contact with our potential clients of the company (do not confuse this with being a secretary, there is ALOT more to this role than meets the eye).

Duties & Responsibilities

- You will be responsible for handling all initial inquiries about our services and scheduling my meetings.

- You will be responsible for booking flights and accommodation for me Internationally.

- You will be responsible for organising seminar venues, sound, video recording etc (we will train you).

- Your results will be measured by how organised and effective this system is after a 3 month period.

- You will be mixing with multi-millionaires and some of the most inspirational people on the planet today.

- You will have access to wealth creation secrets not know to the general public.

Education & Qualifications:

- Academics means very little to me, I didn’t pass year 12 and I have managed to build this business into a well respected and profitable company, so I do not care about degrees but I respect anyone who has been to University and survived.

I do expect you to be smarter than me, more organised than me, and be incredibly motivated about completing any task given to you.

Experience:

- Experience in Word, Excel and Outlook essential.

- Experience with groups of people and delegating tasks preferred

- Experience in promotions/seminars also a bonus.

- Experience in accounting also a bonus.

- Salary will be discussed upon contact.
